Who We are

Christ Community Church has been an important part of the city of Concord, CA for over 75 years. We have a rich history of vibrant care for the community, including 20 years of Manna Ministry, a weekly food pantry and hot meal gathering in the Monument Corridor.

In 2022, we sold the property that had housed our ministries for over 70 years and became a church of "new tents!" We are committed to living our individual and corporate lives in the Way of Jesus as we are defined by our desire for God's Kingdom to come and God's will be done in Concord as it is in heaven.

Christ Community Church is a faith family of loving welcome and compassionate care. We are a diverse community, reflecting the East Bay neighborhoods where we live and serve.

IDENTITY STATEMENTS:

Christ Community Church exists to embody the hope, love, and peace of God, in our communities as in heaven.

We do this by:

Core Values:

A Community of Healing

Shaped by Compassion

Missionally Adaptable

House Covenant

On the first Sunday of each month, we speak this covenant to one another. It is written out of our identity statements and our of our deep desire to be an authentic community that reflects the love of Christ & honors the divine image in each one of us:

We are Christ Community Church.

We are a faith family, with Christ at the center.

We exist to embody the hope, love, and peace of God - in our communities as in heaven;

In our lives and homes, as in heaven.

We share important core values:

We are a community of healing,

A community shaped by compassion.

We are missionally adaptable.

We commit to being an authentic community, defined by vulnerability and empathy.

We commit to being spiritually grounded in Christ.

We commit to being theologically curious and to embracing the beauty & mystery of our faith.

We commit to being hospitable and to caring holistically for all people.

To each other, we make these promises:

We will listen to each other.

We will be honest about our struggles and doubts.

We will assume the best about each other.

We will address conflict directly & will not talk about others when they aren’t present.

We will disagree without dehumanizing.

We will encourage each other in Christ.

We will pursue unity over uniformity, as we seek to embody the hope, love, and peace of God - in our communities as in heaven.
